Asociación Pro-bienestar de la Familia de Guatemala (APROFAM) is Guatemala's largest provider of sexual and reproductive health services. While APROFAM has become a well-known organization throughout its more than 40-year history, challenges remain in ensuring that all Guatemalans have access to the services they need to lead healthy and safe sex lives.  

Groups that are particularly vulnerable to HIV infection– such as men who have sex with men and sex workers–face even bigger barriers in accessing healthcare and information due to stigma and discrimination among both health providers and the community at-large that often makes them avoid public health centers and clinics.

APROFAM soon found that advertising their clinical services through traditional means wasn't sufficient in reaching the most vulnerable clients-they had to meet these clients where they were to gain their confidence and trust.
